Internet Quota Control

In certain situations, you may want to control the time other users surf the web or to prevent them from downloading massive files. With Internet Quota Control, you can restrict your computer or individual users to a monthly bandwidth quota. You can also use this application to see how much bandwidth is used on your computer. Due to its user friendly web interface, advanced knowledge is not a requirement.

Internet Quota Control is part of a software suite, developed by eMing Software. Just like its counterparts, Internet Quota Control comes in a small setup package and you can install it swiftly, without any complications. It works on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, the 2012 Server edition, as well as the recently released Windows 8.

The program's interface is loaded on your default web browser and it can be accessed only with a master password, which you must create during the installation process. You can assign download and upload quotas, view the status of each user, access a history of the used bandwidth and change your password, on separate tabs. It is possible to set up the same quota, for all users or configure different limitations, for individual users. You may also define a total quota, for the computer. Instead of limiting single users, you can limit the sum of their quotas.

The download and upload limits are specified in separate fields, in MB, GB or TB. The software will assign a new quota each month and it allows you to choose the date. Additionally, you can set it to block a user's access to the Internet or to monitor him, when his quota is used up. The Status tab displays the used and remaining bandwidth for each user and for the computer.

The amount of downloaded and uploaded data can be found in the History section as well, where the program can display these statistics for a time period of your choice. Besides users and the computer, Internet Quota Control displays these statistics for services as well.
